LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
Tomorrow is the start of the 2013 MLS season. Excited to be rooting for those Sounders again. So excited that I decided to try painting with some splatter brushes.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!
This year I wanted to make the Christmas card that my wife and I sent out. It was so much fun and a new experience for me. I carved two stamps out of linoleum blocks and hand pressed all of the cards. Below are some photos that I took during the process. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
LITTLE LENNY
I have been working on illustrating a book by L. Wayne Koehler called “Little Lenny’s Corner”. These examples were from my initial style pitch. I included a simple cover idea as well as a sample illustration of the title character Lenny (digging), and his friends Robert and Gregory (two brothers). I’m currently working on redesigning the brothers after further conversations with the author. I’m really excited about this project and hope to post more soon.
I.F. “SUSPEND”
When I was in college I used to wash windows in the summer and I always wished that I could ‘suspend’ myself from somewhere to clean the topmost windows. Sadly, I always had to wash from the ground. For this illustration though, I was able to imagine again what it would have been like if I could have washed windows off the ground (Probably safer to just imagine too).

This is my submission for this week’s Illustration Friday! It’s been a while since I painted with acrylic and it was so much fun painting again.
Revise 1
Okay so I have not posted in some time… so much for keeping a steady flow of updates. Anyway, after looking at the character that I had made previously and started to think about how I was going to be trying to animate him I decided I needed to re-design him.
So I’ve been working with this newly revised version of Henry and while I’m sure there will be more revisions, I think he is going to work. He will definitely work better than the original design I had made. I’m sure I will learn a lot as I try to animate him that will influence how I go about designing characters in the future, but I have to start from somewhere! So here he is, the new and improved Henry:

I am working on an animation for the 11 Second Club website competition. This is the character that I created to use for this months competition as well as any in the future I might try to do. Hope I can finish the animation in time to submit. I’ll post more photos and info about the process as I go.
